FIBERCOP: IN ESTE THE FIBRE NETWORK IS ALREADY A REALITY
- 02 December 2025 - Market
Este (Padua), 2 December 2025 – FiberCop, the company that manages Italy’s most extensive and far-reaching digital infrastructure, is continuing to strengthen the fibre optic internet network in the area of Este, in close coordination with the Municipal Authority. Works to build the new ultra-broadband network have reached several areas of the municipality, with the aim of progressively making ultra-fast connections available.
The project, fully financed by FiberCop, enables speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second.
Thanks to FiberCop’s fibre, the municipality of Este will have an infrastructure that will accelerate the digitalisation of households, businesses and public administration, enabling innovative services such as 4K streaming, remote work, telemedicine and digital services including traffic management, street lighting and environmental monitoring. In addition, fibre will help the environment by reducing CO2 emissions.
Residents can check service availability with their chosen telecoms operator and request activation to benefit from the performance of the new network.
Mayor Matteo Pajola comments: “The arrival of fiber optics in the city represents a significant step for our city. A modern, stable, and ultra-fast network is now a essential condition to supporting citizens, families, businesses, and public services. Digitalization means being able to work better, study more easily, access public services more easily, and make the administration's daily activities more efficient. Este thus continues its path of innovation and sustainability with conviction, equipping itself with a forward-looking infrastructure that will make our region even more attractive”
“FiberCop continues to invest in the country’s digital transformation, promoting the adoption of fibre and facilitating access to advanced services across its territory”, said Gianni Crocetti, FiberCop’s Head of Operations for Northeastern Italy. “The availability of infrastructure that can handle ever-growing traffic volumes over stable, high-speed connections will support businesses in developing their activities and improve quality of life for citizens, contributing to the growth of the local economy.” Wherever possible, existing infrastructure has been used for fibre installation. Excavation works, where required, have been carried out according to environmental sustainability criteria. FiberCop has worked in collaboration with the Municipal Authority to minimise the impact on traffic and proceed swiftly with delivery of the new network.
