Bologna, 03 February 2026 – The fourth leg of the “FiberCop per lo sviluppo dei territori” [FiberCop for Local Development] roadshow took place in Bologna at the Sala Tassinari of Palazzo D’Accursio. The initiative was organised by ANCIcomunicare under the patronage of ANCI and with the technical contribution of FiberCop, the company managing Italy’s most extensive and far-reaching digital infrastructure, with approximately 27 million kilometres of fibre optic network laid nationwide. 

The roadshow provides a valuable opportunity for exchanging technical expertise on the most advanced and sustainable methods for building digital infrastructure. A key focus is on narrow-trench excavation techniques, such as micro-trenching, which help shorten project timelines, reduce costs and improve the efficiency of road surface restoration, while ensuring safety and protecting local areas.

The event began with opening remarks from Giulio Guerzoni, Policy Coordinator for Infrastructure and Urban Networks at ANCI Emilia-Romagna and Councillor for the Municipality of Modena, Michele Campaniello Councillor for New Mobility and Infrastructure, Local Public Transport, City 30 and Road Safety for the Municipality of Bologna, followed by key insights from FiberCop’s Gianni Crocetti Head of North-East Operations and Giulio Di Giacomo Head of National & International Public Affairs.

The nationwide roadshow will conclude with the last leg in Livorno on 16 February, confirming ANCI and FiberCop's shared commitment to promoting modern, sustainable digital infrastructure at the service of local communities.
