FiberCop has published its first Sustainability Report (relating to 2025), a document setting out the company’s objectives: to build Italy’s network of the future in a sustainable way, creating long-term value for citizens, businesses and communities.
For FiberCop, ESG reporting is a way to maintain an open, ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, grounded in active listening, accountability and a shared view of the company’s role in Italy’s sustainable development. The actions and targets listed in the report are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The company's sustainability efforts are built on three pillars – Planet, People and Prosperity – which guide its environmental, social and governance commitments in a coherent and integrated manner. ESG targets are integrated into the management incentive scheme to ensure alignment between financial performance and sustainable value creation in the medium to long term.
On the environmental front, FiberCop has drawn up a Transition and Decarbonisation Plan targeting a 70% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 and Net Zero by 2040 for its own emissions. These targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in July 2025, confirming their alignment with scientific evidence and international climate scenarios.
Relative to the 2023 baseline, the company has cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 36% and Scope 3 – Category 13 emissions by 65%, tracking ahead of the decarbonisation plan.
FiberCop also made significant strides on the social front in 2025. The ongoing skills development of FiberCop's over 18,000-strong workforce, combined with health and safety, is a cornerstone of the company's culture, recognised through achievements such as ISO 45001 certification across 150 sites with personnel. The UNI/PdR 125 and ISO 30415 certifications for gender equality, diversity and inclusion were also reaffirmed, reflecting a sustained commitment to developing people at all levels. Progress on gender balance is equally evident: while women account for 23% of the total workforce, they hold 28% of management roles, pointing to a positive trend in career advancement and leadership development.
Under the Prosperity pillar, alongside the adoption of a new Code of Ethics, Human Rights and Environmental Policies and a Supplier Code of Conduct, FiberCop launched the Building Network programme, a supply chain engagement initiative designed to raise awareness of ESG issues and performance among suppliers, designed to foster ecosystem growth and tackle the challenges of sustainable transition in a collaborative spirit.
The Report has been prepared on a voluntary basis in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) issued by the European Commission and is aligned with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
