FiberCop, which manages the country’s most extensive fixed and fibre optic network – with around 27 million kilometres of fiber laid and more than 6,000 municipalities already connected with ultrabroadband – will provide telecom operators with a modern and reliable infrastructure, ideally suited to supporting the development of innovative digital solutions across the country.
This sponsorship marks a key milestone in FiberCop’s growth whose goal remains to guarantee high-performance connectivity, making an active contribution to digital inclusion, sustainability and the economic development of the country. The partnership with Milano Cortina 2026 confirms FiberCop’s standing and its established expertise in cutting-edge digital networks.
Andrea Varnier, Chief Executive Officer of Milano Cortina 2026, said: “Having aboard a partner like FiberCop is of fundamental strategic importance. The Games require a highly complex connectivity network: we must guarantee speed, quality and continuity, not only for the internal and logistical operations of the event, but also for the images that will be broadcast worldwide and will forever remain part of the history of sport as well as of Italy. For Milano Cortina 2026, an edition with venues spread between city and mountains, cooperation with a leading company in fixed network management is essential during the Games and beyond Milano Cortina 2026”.
Massimo Sarmi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FiberCop, commented: “Our partnership with the 2026 Milano Cortina Foundation is a great source of pride for FiberCop. The Games will be a showcase for Italy and an opportunity to demonstrate how modern, extensive digital infrastructure can enable complex, global events while leaving a lasting legacy for the country. FiberCop was established to be one of the key players in Italy’s digital transformation, and being part of the group of sponsors for this event confirms our determination to attend wherever the present and future of Italy are being built”.
