Vibo Valentia, 13 November 2025 – FiberCop, the company that manages Italy’s most extensive and far-reaching digital infrastructure, is continuing to upgrade the fibre internet network in several municipalities across the province of Vibo Valentia. The works to deliver the ultra-broadband network are designed to make ultra-fast connections progressively available.

At present, works are under way in several locations, including Acquaro, Arena, Briatico, Brognaturo, Cessaniti, Dasà, Dinami, Fabrizia, Filandari, Filogaso, Francica, Gerocarne, Jonadi, Limbadi, Maierato, Mileto, Mongiana, Parghelia, Pizzoni, Ricadi, Rombiolo, San Calogero, San Nicola da Crissa, Serra San Bruno, Simbario, Soriano Calabro, Spadola, Vallelonga, Vazzano, Zambrone. At the same time, the works will be gradually extended to other municipalities in the province, with the aim of ensuring widespread, affordable ultra-fast connectivity for everyone.

The digital infrastructure put in place by FiberCop can reach speeds of up to 10 Gigabits per second and will accelerate the digitalisation of households, businesses and public administration, fostering services such as 4K streaming, remote work, telemedicine and digital services including traffic management, street lighting and environmental monitoring. In addition, fibre will help protect the environment by reducing CO2 emissions.

Residents can check service availability with their chosen telecoms operator and request activation to benefit immediately from the performance of the new network.

Wherever possible, existing infrastructure was used to install the new network, including public lighting ducts. Excavation works, where required, have been carried out according to environmental sustainability criteria. FiberCop has worked to minimise the impact on traffic and proceed swiftly with delivery of the new network.
