New Chief Executive Officer of Italy’s strategic digital infrastructure begins mandate
Rome – Marco Nespolo has today begun work as Chief Executive Officer of FiberCop. The Board of Directors officially appointed Nespolo on 24 September 2026, while confirming Massimo Sarmi as Chairman.
The new CEO’s first day is being spent getting work under way and holding initial meetings with company management.
“I am honoured to join FiberCop, Italy’s strategic digital infrastructure,”commented Marco Nespolo, CEO of FiberCop. “FiberCop sits at the heart of a broad and interconnected ecosystem that brings together operators, institutions, businesses and local communities. The quality and resilience of the network are fundamental to supporting the country’s economic, industrial and social progress, while the ability to create value depends on the strength of the partnerships and collaborations we build and foster together.
In just two years since its creation as an independent operator, the company has achieved remarkable results, establishing itself as a key enabler of digital development. My primary commitment will be to consolidate and strengthen the performance of a resilient and reliable network, an essential infrastructure for the Italian economy. The company is uniquely positioned to enable innovation, attract investment and create opportunities for businesses and communities across the country. I look forward to working alongside everyone at FiberCop and its ecosystem to carry this very purposeful objective forward.”
Nespolo arrives with over twenty years of experience in international companies. He joins FiberCop from Fedrigoni, where he served as Group CEO for nearly eight years, guiding its strategic transformation and international growth. He was previously CEO of the Cerved Group and held senior positions at Bain Capital and Bain & Company.
